Hanna Daly
(It rhymes with sauna, not banana)
Acrylic paint
Hanna has been painting murals for 20 years in San Diego. She paints in a lot of styles, but is mostly drawn to big, colorful pieces that evoke happiness and hope. Creating public art is such a special part of her career, because it allows for everyone to enjoy the art. People from all walks of life get the benefit of a splash of color in their environment.
Hanna strives to run a business that creates little to no waste. Her murals are created using recycled and donated paint, and she reuses drop cloths, paint containers and roller trays. She’s currently doing No Buy 2025—no unnecessary purchases for the entire year. “It’s challenging, but I am always up for a challenge!”

She’s an extrovert who likes open water swimming, costume parties and chatting with just about everyone. She’s proud to be a successful, gay, female business owner who “didn’t listen when the world told me I would become a starving artist if I followed my dream.”
“I’ve dealt with a lot of tough experiences and grief in my life, and creating uplifting art helps me deal with my emotions. Plus, it empowers me to turn difficult spaces, such as hospitals and shelters, into magical worlds. I feel very honored to get to do this for a living.” See more of Hanna’s work on her website.
